No trainer is going to say his current fighter would lose, it would be ****** to think he would. Steward used to hype Andy Lee also because he was his trainer when he really isn't that good. Anything a trainer says while still with a fighter shouldn't be taken seriously.

yep Lewis has a pretty good chin, not perfect but damn good.
If wlad runs from 38 year old retired golfer, he sure as hell isn't going to get in the ring with an ATG, so theres really no point in asking who would win between Wlad and Lewis, it would never happen.
Early KO or poor Wlad. Shame it never happened in a way, because the Kit lickers would have fewer legs to stand on than Wlad that night. Or perhaps they;d have continued being as blind as Vitali had his Lennox fight not been stopped.Last edited by DreamFighter; 03-08-2013, 01:04 PM.Comment

I remember he said that, even he is with K2, he believed that Lennox would win the fight against Vitali if it continued.

I know he was a mandatory, I still don't excuse it. Greater champions than Wlad has given up belts to avoid such a disappointing matchup. Wach might have been bigger, but his best win was a fat Kevin McBride who in his prime was a C level fighter - no disrespect to him. Holmes didn't particularly fight in a bad era, there was many good fighters some '78-'88 where he was champion. He was 48-0 and had more title defences than anyone. Tyson era was crap, but he's the youngest undisputed HW of all times. However, nobody with respect for themselves will have either of those in top 10 HW of all times. Going back all the way to Jack Johnson and fighters who had 150 fights. Wladimir can do whatever he wants, but he wont be in top 10. All of those fighters have been in exiting, epic wars. Defined boxing for their era - took the publics imagination - so that when they fought, the world stood still. They had a nemesis who the world was waiting for them to fight. Look at Tunney, Marciano, Bear, Lennox, Johnson, Louis, Dempsey, Ali, Schmeling ( who fought in front of 100 thousand+ people). After these guys come Liston, Tyson, Holmes, Holyfield, Wlad, Patterson and those types of guys. And once again, I reiterate - head to head Wlad might have had a chance - but we wouldn't know because he hasn't been in with someone who was really on his level (post brewster). Btw, Lewis won Olympic gold in 1988 - not sure if you knew. He should have won in '84 also, but he was robbed in the final.Comment

In trying to prove yourself right, you have proved yourself doubly wrong. Interesting, by proving your own comments wrong that saves the other guy from replying to you.Comment

No trainer is honest they all hype up their fighters. Only a fool would think they don't, name one trainer that said their fighter is going to lose going into a fight. You can't because there isn't one.Last edited by Jam Jars; 03-08-2013, 01:12 PM.Comment

I remember that same Steward said that Lennox is the best out there and better than Oliver when he still wasn't even in negotiations to become Lennox's trainer and he was Oliver trainer - so there you go.Comment
