Yes. I have Lopez beating maidana. Although he can still **** pretty hard, He lost a little pop when he moved up to 147. Lopez can definately take a punch, and doesnt give under pressure. Remember he tried hard against a much much bigger canelo. Add to that maidana is really trying to be more of a technical boxer these days. It looked in the karrass fight like he didnt know if he should box or ****. I have lopez by SD. And wouldnt be surprised if he stops maidana late.

PS It's not even a given Maidana gets past Lopez.
Its a given to me. I'd bet all my points on a Maidana win over Lopez. I'll probably bet about 400 bucks too, if I find a site I like.

Oh by the way, I checked your boy Thurman out he was getting tested and hit clean in a match that was meant to be a showcase. Zaveck (who has just a shade over 40 percent KO ratio?) was having success putting leather on the kid with a simple duck and hook routine, Maidana, the quintessential blood and guts KO artist, would put that kid away. Too powerful and tough, Thurman aint ready.

            Why
            Didn't
            Maidana
            Take
            The
            Thurman
            Fight
if he's ended so many prospects?

Im pretty sure you have also seen those body shots that were landing on Zaveck and the ones that dropped Maidana. Maidana wouldn't be getting up from one of those shots. Guaranteed.

I don't care who wins between Maidana and Lopez but if Maidana grows the balls to face Thurman then let's talk about betting all your points. And why are you talking about Zaveck's KO ratio? That's irrelevant cause Thurman wasn't KD'ed nor hurt by Zaveck.

I already said, at this stage of his career Maidana is looking for bigger money fights. They were offering him beans for a high risk fight. The reward was nill. Meanwhile he could do a foty type with a ok-decent fighter in Karass. It got his name up better, now he has the Lopez fight, and after he wins that another pretty high profile fight. When Thurman gets his name up, as he seems to be doing because HBO is pushing him hard, then the reward will be there to fight him, and I'm sure Marcos would gladly take the fight.

The body shots didn't look as sharp as the Khan 1-2 that hurt Maidana, plus Maidana has looked sharper of late. The important thing is an inferior fighter in Zaveck could land leather on Thurman, and if he can, so can Maidana. I bring up KO ratio because he was "tested" by a fairly light puncher. Maidana has over an 80 percent ko ratio, with more toughness than Zaveck. He would be too much too soon for your boy.

The real question is who does Lopez fight after he beats Maidana?

Dude, KO ratio means nothing in this conversation cause he was not wobbled, hurt or dropped. Malignaggi would've tested Thurman too and what would his KO ratio have to do with anything? Maidana is slow as a snail and his defense/guard is definitely not as good as Zaveck's. Maidana been dropped by smaller guys who don't hit as hard as Thurman either.

Oh and btw, Zaveck did NOT test Thurman. Thurman won that fight EASILY. Some people will try to discredit the win by saying Zaveck didn't come to win but Thurman takes some credit for that. His power and accuracy made a difference in the way Zaveck fought.

Lol the reason Thurman wasn't "wobbled, hurt or dropped" is because he was in there with a light puncher, so ko ratio is very relevent because it indicates punching power and finishing ability. Zaveck was a handful for Thurman, Maidana would be a fistful. Maidana has looked in better shape and defensively more sound of late too, and I'd even take the old version of Maidana over the current Keith. I mean come on, the kid just barely started going over 8 rounds, and you expect him to walk through the fire of Maidana so soon? You must not like your boy very much.
