Comments Thread For: Burns Considering His Options After Parting With Warren

Ricky Burns' rescheduled world title fight against Miguel Vazquez could be called off again after his camp announced he had split from promoter Frank Warren.

WBO lightweight champion Burns saw a second world title date postponed in the space of three months when Warren announced earlier this week that the Vazquez unification bout had been moved from March 16 to April 20.

But the Scot's manager, Alex Morrison, has since declared his next fight will take place in Glasgow and that the partnership with Warren is over.

I reckon Warren will fight this. Technically, hes done nothing wrong. But we shall see. Depends on what contract he issues his fighters and what releases are in them.

Sounds like Warren can't afford a court case even if he's in the right...

Sounds like there is hope for this fight to still happen.

I guess Morrison didn't like Frank telling the Schaefer that he (Alex) doesn't want the Broner fight for Ricky. Can't really blame him though. It's the biggest money on offer but sure to be an ass whooping for Ricky.

I think Mr. Unclever strikes again.....

I don't believe that any doctor would "diagnose ten days of rest".....or even one day. Unless it's a witch doctor, and even they, nowadays have more class than that.

I'd say that the doctor prescribed ten days of rest.

Eddie Hearn said he's announcing a new signing to MatchRoom later his week so it could be Ricky Burns.

I think Burns signing with Matchroom is an obvious choice.

It has to be Matchroom IMO, no other promotional company really has the ability to draw fans and tickets.

And then, the Witchdoctor, he gave me this advice....
Matchroom are dominating at the moment, but is there a limit to how many more they can sign?

Ive got a horrible feeling Burns' next fight will be against Scott Harrison in glasgow ive heard his manager mentioning this fight quite recently and wouldnt surprise one bit if he made it as he manages both fighters. I hope im wrong!
