  • Comments Thread For: Thurman: I Would Easily Favor Broner To Beat Malignaggi

Keith “One Time” Thurman is gearing up to take on Jan Zaveck this Saturday night at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, NY live on HBO as he plans to continue to make his mark in the Welterweight division.

The fight with Zaveck is not only a continued step up for Thurman but also a WBO Welterweight title eliminator. The current WBO champion is Timothy Bradley who fights March 16th and Thurman shared his thoughts on Bradley when he was on BoxingScene’s official radio show “The Boxing Lab”.

If Broner keeps fighting people like Rees and Paulie, it becomes easier to root for him. Why not try some Matthysse, Peterson, Garcia or Rios?

        Nothing going on.

There is literally nothing going on in boxing when that is a headline.

Broner knocks Malinaggi out cold. He isn't the same fighter he once was, he moves less and stands more in front of you now.

          Broner would pick him apart.

I can't wait to see Keith Thurman convulsing on the canvas. It will happen. Overrated *****.

Haha He is a bit overrated. he is just VERY powerful. Someone who's quick and excellent defensively would beat him. Reminds me a bit of Angulo.

Malignaggi is a washed up fighter who relied on movement he no longer possesses, Broner in an easy fight(which I'm sure is the point). I wouldn't mind Thurman-Broner though.

Extremely simple to answer. Peterson and Matthysee are on course to fight each other. Garcia is scheduled to fight Judah. Rios is with TR. It's either some lame fighter at 135 or Paulie. At least Paulie is two weight classes above him so it's more challenging. I think Broner wins but its not like he can't go back to 140 or that the 140 crowd wouldn't love to move up for a shot at a belt against Broner in the same division as Floyd. People don't get it but this fight makes tons of sense for everyone at GB at 140 and Broner. Just doesn't make sense for Paulie.
