Lopez is trying to rebuild his career and I think that he was overrated like many other Rican boxers. His most important victory was against Ponce (who is far from being an elite boxer) because Penalosa was not only coming from a lower division but was also 37-38 yr old when he faced JML. Lopez was supposed to face Gamboa but because Arum wanted to create more expectation the fight never came to fuition. JML looked his real potential facing another old fighter, Roger Mtagwa. Salido was supposed to be an easy opponent specially fighting in the island and having 11 defeats in his record. It appears that Lopez has now problems to fight under 126 Lbs and his promoter wants a catch weight to face Mikey Garcia or Donaire to try to take advantage. I think the best chance for JML to be champion again is to face the weakest Roman Mtz. provided RM gets another gift decision vs. Magdaleno like he did recently courtesy of the WBO.
