  • Comments Thread For: Canelo Discusses Trout Unification, Facing Cotto on PPV

WBC 154-pound champion Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez (41-0-1, 30KOs) says there is no other fighter on his mind besides WBA champion Austin Trout (26-0, 14KOs). They will put their titles on the line on April 20th at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

"I'm highly motivated. He is a great fighter, and brought even more value to himself with the victory that he earned over [Miguel] Cotto in New York, but these are the type of opponents that I want. To be great, you have to fight with the best. I think Trout is the most dangerous opponent [of my career] because he is young and he has never lost a fight. He's a southpaw but that doesn't worry me because I have already fought with left-handers and I've been able to beat them," Canelo said.

Canelo beats both of these guys. Cotto would be a great fight--some blood in that one definitly

Great fhucking fight, these are real fighters!!! I hope Floyd the duck man retires so that he can stop making a mockery out of boxing with his bullshiet antics. Taking his pathetic fan cheerleaders with him would be a plus.

Trout Was Too Big For Cotto By 30 Pounds On Fight Night! Canelo Stops Trout!

Canelo is the second coming of Marvin Hagler. He's in PHENOMENAL shape always. He's not getting caught up in all the celebrity, all the fame. He's a wrecking machine, who will make you fight every second of every round, steal your heart, make you bleed, drop your hands to protect those hammered ribs, makes you quit, then knocks you out. He has the absolute right mindset. In order to be the best, become a legend, you fight the best of the best, win, lose, or draw, in their PRIME. Don't hand pick your career to death, looking for a safe route to the bank each fight out, just as Mayweather does. Floyd made Cotto and Mosley wait 10 years. He's made Pacquaio wait for more than 4 years and with two recent losses, Junior Mayweather still won't fight Manny; he's too dangerous still. Junior will never fight Canelo, so no sense even talking about that. Canelo has the tools, the youth, the commitment to dominate a division for 10 years or more and clean out everyone around you, from 154 to 175. Trout will take a beating to his body that will empty is tank early, and then it becomes a slow kill. Canelo stops him around 7 or 8 rounds.

I've came to conclusion that mayweather has a lot of fans. This is a Canelo thread yet Floyd is brought up, next it will be hopkins, Oscar, Ward etc, like damn people can we stay on topic? By the way win or lose I would pay to see Canelo and Cotto styles make fights, and Trout And Canelo will be a great fight

I like Canelo too but be serious dude. Hes not an apply pressure for every minute type fighter. Hes a boxer/puncher and often takes the first minute and a half of rounds off. Now I still think he puts Trout down in 9 rounds but I couldnt let you post that without correcting you.
