So in other words you do care about money... to live comfortably and support your family you'd need a stable income. I honestly think you're deluding yourself, so you want to be a promoter as a "hobby" and make side money of it, as well as being a trainer and ANOTHER job?

What i mean is my goal is not to become rich through this. I want to do this out of my love and passion for the sport.

Yeah my parents own a business ill be working their, saving up money, till whenever.
Becoming a trainer is more of a long term goal. I want to open a gym and through time see what i can do. Its MUCH harder to be a successful trainer than a successful promoter.

Perhaps a responsible letter asking for advice, to one or more of the promoters might be a help. You can figure out which ones might be sympathetic to your goal; you might even get a sort of a job there which would show you more. When you were saying that you knew what is entailed, you didnt mention the dirt corruption and bad faith etc. which are massive.

I don't believe that anybody can be an occasional promoter as a sideline. It takes lots of LEGAL committment with money and fees, etc. as you say you already know. Many years ago my late uncle was an occasional promoter, and I believe he lost money every time, and he was always a partner, not a solo promoter.

          This ^

Try get in touch with any promoter you can and tell them your goals and kiss more ass than you've ever kissed. Promoters need "hook-ups" to be successful, otherwise the costs and competition will eat them up. Good luck dude, I hope you can at least get some experience in promoting.

Appreciate the advice. Interesting. What state did your uncle promote in?

This guy knows. I don't think promoting is something you do as a "hobby".

The cost involved with starting a company as well as the time you have to put into it is more than you realise from the sound of your posts.

Get on Twitter and look for Michelle Rosado who has started her own promotions company and put on her first event in January. That woman never slept and was working around the clock.

Also, maybe try to get involved with a PR who would be willing to teach you the ropes. Most PRs that I know started out working for FREE for a few YEARS until they learnt their craft. If you seriously want to get involved with it, PM me and I can put you in contact with a close friend of mine who is a PR out of Phoenix, but I don't think you have thought this through if you think you can make money to live comfortably and do it as a hobby.
