mavrovich & akinwande were mandatories. lewis then vacated one of his belts when akinwande became his mandatory again. lennox lewis' voluntary defences were against vitali klitschko, golota, botha, briggs(prime), tyson, holyfield twice(unification), bruno, phil jackson, rahman...it's actually a pathetic comparison... mccall twice, rahman a second time, tua, mercer, ruddock, morrison were fights when he didn't have a title or they were mandatories. comparing lennox & the klitschkos resumes is pretty embarrassing. only klitschko fans would see it any other way...

Golota, Botha and Briggs were good fights, Holyfield at that point was no longer himself, the version of Tyson that Lewis fought isn't even worth mentioning. He wanted McCall again because he could avenge a ko defeat against a fighter with drug problems, the Rahman rematch of course he wanted. Ruddock, mercer and tua were good fights, although I believe he got a gift against mercer. Morrison was always limited and I'm a big Morrison fan. Before joining this forum I wasn't a big fan of the klitschkos but I respected them, I think they get some serious hate here. Lennox Lewis who I was a big fan of (I am a Brit, he was our god), is spoken of far too highly. He dominated but even at the time, you new he was fighting people on the slide(Holyfield, Tyson) or people who'd recieved undue hype (grant, tua)

No more like Pulev. You become European champ, you get a world ranking - you fight for the title. That's how it works and how it always works, don't make it out to be something new.
