BoxingScene has been advised by a source close to the negotiations that a Mikey Garcia-Orlando Cruz fight is being discussed. The source requested anonymity, as they are not authorized to speak on the subject.

Cruz (19-2-1, 9 KOs) made the news last October when he came announced he was gay, becoming the first known openly gay boxer. He would first have to get past a March 22 stay-busy fight against Aalan Martinez (14-1-1, 10 KOs).

Wtf? This fight makes no sense and makes no interest. I don't think Mikey should defend his belt against Cruz. It makes much better sense to give Salido a rematch or fight against Juanma. It's time for Mikey to get bigger fights unless this is some sort of tune up fight.
