Comments Thread For: Burns Says He's 'Absolutely Gutted' Over Vazquez Mess

Ricky Burns and Miguel Vazquez have expressed their frustration at the enforced cancellation of their lightweight unification title fight in London.

WBO champion Burns was due to face Mexican IBF belt-holder Vazquez at Wembley Arena on 16 March, but Vazquez was forced to pull out due to a stomach virus.

The fight has been rescheduled for April 20 at the same venue but both fighters were keen to apologise to fans for having to delay the much-anticipated clash.

The postponement is particularly frustrating for Burns, who saw his proposed bout with Liam Walsh last December cancelled after his opponent was involved in a car crash.

Time for the best to fight the best. Adrien Broner vs Ricky Burns.

Broner should fight burns in his back yard! This is what boxing is all about, the best fighting the best and Broner better not back down from the best in Burns!

So now that Burns is free to fight or should drop vaz, let's see if Broner steps up!

Ah well. Stay focused on the W, one extra month isn't a long time.

I like this idea a lot. Broner was already calling him out on Twitter. Be nice if Burns responded by inviting him over for a big fight across the pond.
