I think its a good move. If Canelo first PPV sells even 500k and then he adds more legit contenders to his resume than I think it will help him cause the draw is there already.

At the end of the day Alvarez needs to worry about Trout and Trout only before talking about Mayweather, just as Mayweather has Guerreo to worry about before talking about some "JMW***" who was looked at as a joke one year ago.

I guess beating Mosley changed everyone's minds about Alvarez. It was less than a year ago but that was before someone was attached to his name. Now hes a monster being avoided.

I say let the kid get some contenders on that resume and next May the fight will be even bigger if they both keep winning. If not then Martinez next May will be huge too. Pretty much if he keeps winning and beating contenders then next May he wont need Floyd

Canelo's comp so far has been pathetic, but I don't see how you complain him for booking Kirkland or even Angulo if he gets past Trout. Kirkland is Ring top 10, and both guys are more dangerous than anyone he's fought till Trout.
