When will fighters learn to quit looking past their opponent? I see this next fight ending badly for Canelo.

If one of them loses all that time goes down the drain. Canelo is overlooking his opponent not good.
The problem is that this pissing contest, effected the negotiations for May 4th, and Sept 14. Thus they needed to be addressed.

Canelo star power would bring in over 250K or more PPV buys to the May 4th card. Money that Canelo will never see, and flow strait into Floyd's pocket.

Floyd's camp "verbally" assured they will meet on Sept 14, if Canelo lends his star power.

Canelo camp wanted a written guarantee. Otherwise they will pull from the date, and be on their own business.

The problem was not so much Canelo camp, but Floyd weighing if they where going to bite or not. The moment Floyd refused to sign the guarantee, Canelo announced a new date, and his opponent.

In the end we win. Floyd Fans will see a big fight on May. Canelo fans get to see him match up with Trout in an earlier date.

floyd also has an out after the 1st fight on the showtime deal. It makes sense not to guarantee a fight when you may opt out of the deal.

Haha, wow. Austin is no doubt a threat to Canelo. These guys are thinking ahead of time much too soon. But yes, if Canelo did beat Trout it does seem likely he would face Angulo or Kirkland at 154. I don't see Canelo going up to 160 to face Martinez anytime soon.

2 me Cotto/Angullo pose no threat/interest, which is why he named them & sergio won't take it...funny no mention of Vanes, Kirkland or Lara, the 3 that would beat him...

I smell bull****. I thought Floyd had the September date. So Canelo and Floyd will headline separate ppv's the same night? Get real! If this April 20th does not get a large number of views, caneleo will be fighting Floyd or he'll be on the undercard fighting angulo. Martinez in sept? At what? 154? He's gonna drain his first big name opponent? That would be weak. He gotta fight Martinez at 160.
