Totally agree!! Froch would brutally knock him out if he chose to lay against the ropes like he has been doing recently!

My thoughts, too. DeGale has never 'got over' THAT loss to Groves. If anything, he's regressed.

Dont hate the player... He's trying to work his way up, what should he be doing? Fighting an ancient Glen Johnson like Groves did?

You can say the rankings are wrong (which is fine, i havent seen the guy fight) but thats on the WBC, not Degale/Hennessy.

Its the WBC's fault that he's fighting scrubs?

DeGale is currently in no mans land. He has zero momentum, fighting no names on channel 5. He had a bigger following and more momentum when he was starting out, now, at the age he should be reaching his peak, no one gives a ****. DeGale needs to find a new promoter, possibly Hearn on sky and push for a Groves rematch, it's the only thing that can save his career before he turns 30 and gets fed to a world champion.

The question is, does Eddie Hearn think he is promotable? And would Sky like to have him back?

No its their rankings. They got just under 3 weeks till fight night, and they got the WBC no.10. How is that bad?

Again i havent seen the guy fight so im not gonna comment on whether hes a scrub or not im just saying as far as Degale/ Hennessy are concerned this isnt the worst fight they could have got. How many times do we get complete bums plucked out of nowhere to fight on late notice? At least they tried to get someone highly ranked.

Who should he have fought? Bearing in mind time constraints and he fights on terrestrial tv which makes postponements harder?

Who cares where he's ranked by the WBC, he sucks and shouldnt even really be ranked 100. He's not highly ranked in any sense of the word.

Im not sure of Degale's "situation" but who have they realistically tried to fight?

His last fight was against Zuniga, who just fought highly rated Oosthuizen. Then he was scheduled to fight Pablo Farias before he pulled out (not sure why yet), he has fought and got knocked out by Arthur Abraham and then has gone on a 6 fight ko streak (against average guys admittedly). Now he is fighting this Brand fella on late notice.

I'd understand the annoyance if he was blowing through these guys but he isnt. He has been in a series of hard fights that show he isnt quite ready for world level yet, so i dont really see the issue?

Id also remember he was very inactive after losing to Groves which is why he left Warren, and is now getting his sharpness back. Since that loss he's won the EBU belt, defended it a few times against decent euro opposition, and now has the WBC silver belt which he is using to move up the WBC rankings. Hes only had 15 fights as well.

I dont think hed go to Hearn not with Groves there and likewise Cleverly wont go to Hearn if he ever leaves Warren not with Bellew there
