Sub .500 journeyman Ulises Lara pulled off a shocking 2nd round knockout of former title challenger Omar Soto in their Telemundo-televised main event Friday evening in Mexico City, Mexico.

A pair of knockdowns was enough to force Soto to quit, remaining on a knee as the referee waved off the contest following the second knockdown.

Good scrap, and good win for Lara. He looked pretty good for a guy with 14 losses.

I saw Soto live in Vegas under the Nishoka vs Marquez card and I wasn't impressed at all. He didn't make weight and it looked like he didn't even try at all against Gonzalez.
