I can't stand it either. It's against the rules but some referees allow it when they shouldn't. Hatton got away with big time in England and Mosley and Ward do it too. Hopkins is another one that holds and hits.

Wlad crash landed too. Wlad's comp has been so awful that he doesn't need to hold and hit anymore because guys can't even reach him. That's how awful his comp is nowadays.

Lennox hold and hit Vitali a LOT in their fight. Much more than I saw Wlad in any fight.

Nevertheless if judges are ok with it I am too.

If you "hook" an arm and punch with the other its perfectly legal. Theres certain times when holding is a part of strategy but the key is to cut the guy loose as the ref comes in to break it. This way the ref actually never physically or vocally admonishes a fighter!
Last nights fight was a tuff assignment to ref because Dibb was a crude unschooled fighter when it came to in close fighting. The Russican wasn't very good either but he was willing to trade so he got the benefit of doubt.

The fact that it was a "Title Fight" amazed me!!! These guys were club fighters at best. Theres a reason why alot people think the fighters from the past excell over the current ones. When you consider a fight with Dibb vs Sandy Sadler at 126lbs you back the ambulance up to the ring apron and start the motor when the bell rings!! Willie Pep could fight them both at the same time and neither of them could hit him!!!!! hahaha!!!
Both of them are prelim fighters at best! For either to be a "Champion" is unbelieveable!!! Ray.
