The Contender: Where are they now?

While Ishe Smith just won the IBF, the others from the original Contender series seem few and far between in the relevant boxing world.

Guess they made the path from Contender to gatekeeper.

[QUOTE]Last Saturday Ishe “Sugar Shay” Smith (25-5, 11KO’s) beat Cornelius “K9” Bundrage to win the IBF light middleweight world championship.
In winning the title, Smith, 34, became just the second boxer from the inaugural season of the reality TV show The Contender to win a world title.
The Contender season one aired in 2005 and featured 16 boxers, both up and comers and journeymen all vying for a $1 million prize.
While only one man won the million, all 16 gained invaluable marketability, and in 15 episodes became household names worldwide; something real title contenders try to do their whole career.
In light of Smith’s championship victory, Ringside Report takes a look at the other 15 pugilists from the show in a ‘Where are they now?’ three part article.
