Has any old master ever beat as many young, hungry lions as Hopkins has?

Looking back at the old legends record, he beat Trinidad, Glen Johnson, Vanderpool, Echols, Pavlik, Pascal, now he's up against it again when he faces Tavoris Cloud. Good luck Bernard!

The point of the thread is to ask, which fighter late in their careers holds wins over young champions in the way Hopkins does? Ones that come to mind are Tommy Hearns beating Virgil Hill, Sugar Ray Robinson's regained the title by beating the likes of Fullmer and Basilio, Roberto Duran against Iran Barkley and Davey Moore

Has anyone got anymore examples to share?

Archie Moore and Foreman are the only guys in the same boat.

But Hopkins has taken on so many undefeated or 1 loss fighters at an advanced age its mind boggling.

It is a good term, the law of the jungle states that the old will get replaced by the new but that old lion just isn't going to give up his position but there are many lions out there looking for that spot.

You could use any animal really, but lions are the kings of the jungle so to speak so I think it fits very well with boxing.

Just because a fighter is young, doesn't mean they are hungry or a lion. Guys that aren't even young are called young, hungry, lions.

Just irritates me. Sorry, not trying to take credit from Hopkins, who is one of the best fighters of my lifetime and does deserve credit for fighting who he fights and beating them at his age.
