There was actually the proposed match between Sergio
Martinez and Miguel Cotto for March 12, 2011. Top Rank
who was Cotto's promoter at the time offered Martinez a
very small portion of the purse which is why ultimately the
main reason the fight talks fell through and Cotto ended up
fighting Ricardo "El Matador" Mayorga instead with Cotto at
the end of his career saying that he will only fight a total of
three more fights that's definitely a fight I would want to see.
