It's not really a cherry-pick because it's probably his biggest money fight and it makes financial sense. If he doesn't fight him it's not a duck because Canelo is a green/unproven fighter who hasn't built the merit to demand a Mayweather fight at this time.
If Canelo were to legitimately beat Trout (which I don't think he will) and Floyd decided to fight an 'unknown/less financially sound' opponent, then we could start making a case for Mayweather purposely avoiding Canelo.
Very few would call fighting the winner of Trout-Alvarez a cherry pick.
Sure they will bc if trout wins they will say Canelo was protected, if Canelo wins trout, a nobody, who beat a past it cotto Floyd had already beaten and you know they/y'all will
Poor multi millionair Floyd who makes 20 million or more every time he fights. Everybody is picking on him. He is never going to fight Martinez at 154 or Canelo or Lara or Trout and I would bet on that. He needs to vacate the WBA 154 pound title he is never going to defend and fight the best welterweights and he is doing that by fighting Guerrero.
