I don't think the problem is so much with the opponent. For Canelo to fight on Floyd's undercard Floyd has to sign up to fight him in September. From what Schaefer is saying we'll find out if Canelo vs Mayweather is secure for September or not. If not then Canelo will fight an opponent on his own date.

Seems like you haven't been keeping up. Following his KO loss to Kirkland, Angulo was inactive for over a year partly because he was incarcerated for 8 months for some immigration issues (I don't really know the details) and since his return he's looked horrible; going life and death against a fringe welterweight prospect (I don't remember the guy's name).

I also didn't fancy him before the Kirkland KO since he was previously out-boxed by a shot Cintron not long prior. The people claiming Angulo was a beast are probably the same ones who thought Rubio was gonna KO/'expose' Chavez; making Angulo the Mexican boxer who would 'expose' Canelo (Molina would more applicable).

As far as Canelo's opponent, if no Trout, I'll only be satisfied with Lara seeing as he is Canelo's mandatory (or should be) anyway...

Ive always thought he was garbage but got hated on NSB for saying it. thought a year ago but i guess 2 years. Dang where did the time go! Anyway I knew of immigration and loved the Kirkland fight but just showing how easily things change in here.

Mayweather wants no part of the Canelo curse. Trying to get him off the card, out of the mgm, out of the city. No seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if Canelo gets his own date in april. Moths ago it was said that was an option. Besides, a Canelo v Trout fight just seems like a bad buisness decision to not have it on its own date. Mayweather will probably eventually phase out gbp in promotional services and they know it. They need to look out for themselves and thier future.

Angulo definitely had a shot at KOing Canelo prior to Kirkland. We all know Canelo possesses china. But it seems the Kirkland fight took something out of Angulo (remember he took a major beating) as well as jail time. He couldn't stop OR drop a 20 year old WW PROSPECT.

Canelo vs Trout on a separate date can stand on its own. Both guys would make bigger money.

Schefer needs to stand up to Floyd's bullying tactics. He'll be retiring anyway. It's clear that separating the two cards on different dates is more lucrative for Schaefer than combining them.

Hey guys, lets blame everyone else except for canelo. Lets act like if canelo really wanted to fight Trout, they could make him (not) fight him.

Lets blame golden boy. Let the (Floyd haters) blame Floyd. Let's somehow even find some crazy way to blame Trout.

It's like this, canelo knows who he wants to fight & who he doesn't. His team too. Anyone who has a damn clue about boxing knows that you don't go from beating Josesito Lopez, to beating Trout 1 of the best at 154. You do not go from beating bums, to fighting the top guys. They all know this.

Canelo knows, what he's capable of. He's GBP's golden goose, do you think they give him what he wants to keep him happy? Of course, so if he wanted to fight Trout and he had the confidence he would've scheduled the fight already. I don't get what the hold up is.
