Kostya cuz he can keep the distance against Lucas. Lucas footwork and reflex is a lot slower. And Lucas boxing skillz ain't as good.

Matthysse is good at cutting the distance. He moves in with movement and a jab. He doesn't just come in face first. And well, Garcia is not a very good at boxing or moving backwards.Originally posted by DUnknown1Quote:

There's no contest if you base this purely on resume (and really, what else is there to go off of at this point?). Golovkin still hasn't fought anyone truly worthwhile (maybe Rosado? maybe Proksa? Ouma?)...Matthysse may have "lost" to Alexander and Judah, but he put both of them down. An old Soto is still on par with the majority of GGG's resume, and this latest KO of Peterson really seals it up to me.
Put it this way...GGG's been expected to dominate the majority of recent competition, whereas Matthysse v Peterson was expected to be far more competitive. Did anyone really expect Ishida to NOT get knocked out? Sure, he arm-punched Kirkland in one round, but Kirkland was coming off a series of back to back fights (if I remember correctly) and is known to be a bit of a hype job himself.Comment

His game is to counter in the pocket. He could try boxing off the back foot, but like Peterson he'd still get tagged a few times and get drawn in to a fight. I think he tries to get Matthysse's respect early, and if he fails, he gets knocked out. He won't live with Matthysse if Matthysse has no fear in walking him down.Comment

Trout is much better than anybody that Matthysse has been in the ring with. I don't even agree that Canelo looked like sht. Sure it wasn't a flawless performance, but I was impressed with his power, timing, and defense. Obviously he needs to work on his conditioning and punch output though. I just haven't seen any justification for all of this Matthysse hype. He has no shot to beat Mayweather at this point, it would be boxing lesson. Canelo would get a lesson too, but at least he has the size and strength to maybe negate Mayweather's skill advantage.I was referring to your comment about "Canelo has shown better skills than Lucas." The only time he showed better skills was vs the small guys. That's why I said put a LW in front of Lucas and you would say the same thing about him. Canelo looked like **** vs Trout and wasn't even putting punches together and was still gassed out.
