Martinez willing to move down 10lbs to fight Floyd, but not move up 8 to fight Ward?

Sergio hasn't fought at 154 in almost 4 years. and who would give Floyd any credit if he fought a drained Martinez? Get real man.

Martinez is a full fledged MW now.

Dieting and a proper cut would fix that. He was a JMW when he was in his 30's, it's not like he started at JWW, and then moved up.

Martinez probably thinks that Floyd would not be taking that kind of risk and has several examples (Manny, Margarito, Cotto - 5 years ago, P.Williams, himself .... ) of where it would have been a no-brainer but Floyd somehow managed to put so many excuses/roadblocks that the fights were never made.

At least with Manny, Floyd pretended that he was willing to fight. After Martinez mentioned his interest in Floyd, Floyd stated "Why doesn't Martinez fight Ward?" Well Floyd the question was for you NOT Ward!!!

So if Martinez drained himself to make 154 and looked like a shell of his MW self would you give Floyd credit?

both of these guys are frauds. they won't even fight the best in their own division. it boggles the mind how they can still be highly ranked. in any other legitimate sport if you don't test yourself against the best next season/year etc...you aren't the best anymore! only in boxing can you become the best and remain the best by fighting second rate opponents. so if the ravens only play the browns, jets, and jaguars next season they are still the best team in the league? uh no, if they don't play the best they forfeit their title. why is it not the same in boxing? at the next olympics if michael phelps refuses to race against the best and only races against hand picked opponents is he still the best? uh no. only in boxing.

The answer is hell no...example: floyd gets no credit for coming off a two year vacation and shutting marquez out. Excuse: too big.

Right, fighting back to back to back top 10 mw's isn't fighting the best? Golovkin fighting Rosado and now Ishida makes him the better than Sergio?

Floyd fought and took Cotto's belt and now is fighting Guerrero who has the interim version of Floyd's WW belt.

Who do you think is deserving of respect then?

I think that might be because he didn't make weight and bought his weight advantage, but yea who gives a **** about facts.

there's a big difference between beating the 8th best guy or the 2nd, or the 8th best team as opposed to the 2nd in any league. there's such a thing as forfeiting in sports. if you refuse to play or face a challenger you lose. this is why golovking jumps ahead of everyone else because they don't want none. maybe he's not that good but they forfeited their position. if the ravens didn't show up to play the super bowl they lose! they don't retain their title by playing a completely different crappier team.

cotto was sh-it at 154. fought nobody. guerrero ain't sh-it at 147. berto and a razor close fight vs aydin? pac, margarito, and cotto had ten times that resume and floyd didn't want none. like i said you can just cherry pick over and over and stay at the top by waiting for guys to fade and cherry picking guys like guerrero and ortiz. stop rewarding these frauds with your respect. i respect carl froch and of course cesar rene cuena!
