Martinez willing to move down 10lbs to fight Floyd, but not move up 8 to fight Ward?

Oh man this is ****ed up now

Why don't one of you tweeters (or twittererers or whatever) ask AW how tall he is?

Tell him we're trying to settle an arguement here on boxingscene.

He'll probably enjoy hearing that somebody is arguing about him.

Boxrec is not a very reliable source, they had Rubio at 5'10 when he was actually as tall if not taller than the 6'1 Chavez (HBO measured him 6'1 1/2).
I'm with ya on that Martinez is just naturally a little skinnier as well as a little shorter, but he's not smaller than Ward more than Floyd is smaller than him.

I could be wrong, but in this case I'm going w/Boxrec.

Lemme look at his wiki (still not 100% but wtf)...

ok Wiki has Ward at 6' as well.

Show me 2 better sources and I'll concede for the sake of dicussion that Andre Ward is 6'2".

        Otherwise, he's 6 ft.
All I'm trying to say is that boxrec isn't totally reliable. 6-2 or 6-0, he is still markedly larger than Sergio is both in height and physical stature.

There's no doubt in my mind that every single poster who commented in this thread, whether for or against Martinez, if you were in his position you would do the exact same thing. Weight drain yourself for $4-5Mill, or bloat up for $2Mill. Either one would be bad, which do you choose?

Also Mayweather moving up to MW would be his 6th weight class. MW is Sergio's 3rd weight class.

Sergio just went a full 12 rounds with a 180lb Chavez and people want Mayweather, who hasn't even weighed 154 lbs for a fight to fight him?

@ 154, why not? He's the champ there right?

cutting weight is harder than moving up, especially for these guys with not much body fat to give up; and if I was Martinez I would go for Mayweather too; smaller guy and waaaaay more $$$$.
