Tell me more about Markus Beyer

Anybody seen many of his fights? Is he better than Kessler, and should Lacy fight this guy next after Calzaghe (assuming he wins)

i've probably seen about his last 8 fights or so..........he would have to be one of the most non noteworthy champions out there.........he mostly fights bums and does his utmost to not fight mandatories, or, his promoters do their tricks to get bums made mandatories.......

just look at his opponents on boxrec.com

his next fight is against and unknown italian fighter with 18 wins, 0 losses, and 2 knockouts.........what a record?!...

He first got his title with a typical german points decision over Eric Lucas.....

Not much more to him......short southpaw fighter with a low KO ratio, counter puncher...thats about it..

Nowhere near the level of competition of Kessler or Lacy.....very very lucky decisions even against Danny Green.....

Lost five out of five times to Mario Veit in the amateurs. Lost the last six rounds against Richie Woodhall yet somehow got the decision (Woodhall had been out of the ring for a year due to falling out with Warren, so he was very rusty at the start of the Beyer fight but when he found his range he schooled Beyer for the last six rounds and got robbed). Lost to Glenn Catley! Glenn was my stablemate and I used to beat him in the gym, he lacked talent and it was shocking how he even got to British level. Beyer would hardly stand a chance at all against the three best in the division (Brahmer, Froch and Bute). Calzaghe and Lacy are two of the weaker SMW's right now, but Beyer would hardly stand a chance against either of them.

The best that Beyer has fought is an out-of-form Richie Woodhall, and he looked crap in that fight. He's garbage. Jurgen Brahmer knocked him out on his first day working as Beyer's sparring partner, then Beyer cancelled Brahmer as his sparring partner because Brahmer was beating the living **** out of him.

He has problems when he gets hit/hurt which seems to stem from Catley fight when he was KO'ed in the last round. When hurt or under great pressure he doesn't really know what to do since the confidence that he can pull through doesn't seem to really be there. I know he has been working a lot on this outside the ring.

On the plusses he has some good body punches which he displayed in the second Green fight. His stamina also seems good since he often goes 12 rounds.

danny green is a big puncher, but very slow and robotic...and that is the reason why beyer, a counter puncher looked decent........and at the same time, beyer's whole career was on the line in the 2nd fight and that is why he fought his best possible fight...and at the same time, green was over-confident.........if Mundine is fully focused, he will beat green easily on points....
