He'd most likely end up fighting an inside fight against Matthysse too, because Matthysse's plenty good at fighting at range.
Peterson can't beat Matthysse strictly boxing from long range his best chance to win is to fight an inside fight

Precisely why Matthysse decapitates him in 6-8. You don't simply walk through Matthysse, and if that's your game plan. DAMN!

Peterson the guy who fought a Draw with a much bigger, and more powerful puncher Victor Ortiz, and has a win over Amir Khan, is going to get KO'ed or lose to a limited fighter like Matthysse?
So you assume that Lucas is slow and has no movement because he is Latino? Well, we have cojones and resistance. Peterson will run and hug like he always does. Ortiz was robbed. Rios made Peterson his puta.

Peterson didn't actually beat Khan--khan got jobbed. Peterson's draw vs. Ortiz was also crap. I, like almost every other person that scored that fight, had Ortiz by many points.

I also don't believe Ortiz hits harder than Matthyse. I watched both fight at Staples from the front row. Matthyse's punches sounded and looked much harder than Ortiz's. moreover, matthyse's recent run of knockdowns in fights is way more impressive than anything ortiz has done. Ortiz has never knocked out anybody that was top notch either.

I give Peterson a good shot at beating Matt's but to say Matt's has nothing to pose a problem for him is ridicules..Matt's pressure body work and power all will give Peterson major trouble in the ring..But Peterson does have things that will give Matt's problems as well..Long jab body work very strong in fighting ability and just very strong in general..

All in all I say it's a pretty even fight(as are most at 140lb),hope it get made..

I don't mind if someone says Peterson beats Matthysse (which I don't agree with) but stop him?

Peterson couldn't even hurt Khan who has the weakest chin ever and now that he stops Holt he's supposed to stop Matthysse too? Oh please...

I do think Peterson is hard to hit cleanly on the inside..He rolls punches well and smothers his opponents shots..Add in the body work he will put in,he has a very strong chance of beating Matt's..Those body shots Petey throws will have sapp some of that power from Matt's as well..I'm getting very excited talking about this fight right here...
