Defend what? He had his best wins in the latter part of his career.

Jeff Lacy was thought to be a very good fighter at the time. No idea to play revisionist historian.

    He beat B-hop, an ATG.

He beat the clear #2 SMW, Mikkel Kessler (who by the way still is Andre Wards best win together with Froch)

Is he an ATG? Not imo, but he's the second greatest SMW of all time and he's going into the HOF.

Ottke? Not even half of Calzaghes resume, should have losses too. Calzaghe undefeated.

And how about just reading the great Cliff Rold's piece on Calzaghe's career? In his opinion he's an ATG.

Cliff Rold could probably debate you silly on the subject. Feel free to dissect his article.

By Cliff Rold - It shouldn’t matter, but it did. Logic said Joe Calzaghe, while only three years younger, had too much in the tank to be troubled much by a man

            And Cliff Rold is?

Are you really touting the Kessler and Hopkins wins?

If you even think he beat Hopkins any objective observer knows it wasnt dominant by any means.

            Not exactly great stuff.

The Kessler win was without question. Absolutely nothing to debate.

The win against Hopkins was a clear but close win in the eyes of the majority.

Cliff Rold is a great boxing writer on this site. He does the boxingscene rankings among many great articles.

Read the article and feel free to dissect it. I'm sure it will spur some debate.

He lost me at "compares favorably to Marciano".

And he spends a lot of time talking about how Lacy and Kessler moving forward would make Calzaghe look better.

We know that didn't happen. He derides Calzaghes competition but says it was good enough. He says that Roy Jones was a pointless win, but then declares that he clearly beat Hopkins.

                  hey cliff:

How has Kessler not had a good career after his fight with Calzaghe? He's 7-1 with a win over Froch (who's on most people p4p lists) and only lost to arguably the best fighter in the world today, Andre Ward.

Yes i've seen that biased video. It's pure garbage.

Of course it is because it hurts your argument. Btw, the guy who did that video has a video against Floyd mayweather which I dont agree with but he's not biased.

What's he baised against? Lol. Nice try.

The entire video series shows the entire fight in slow motion. You can see how bull**** Calzaghe's defense is. Slowed down, zoomed in tape doesn't lie.

But only in this world can Calzaghe fans ignore facts and reality. "he was pushing the fight"= give him the win!

Yeah, because "pushing the fight" has always been a scoring criteria.
