no need for that! Donaire will comfortable at 126! This fight could happen at 130! Donaire will make Gamboa look like at amateur there!

Rigo is slicker and better power than Mares. We don't know if Donaire takes a perfect power punch from Rigo yet. Boxing is very unpredictable, anything can happen. I lean toward Donaire but not by much.
I'm somewhat surprised to read this, coming from you, Rich. I thought you favored Donaire quite easily. Your bolded comments match my thoughts very closely. I consider Nonito about a 60/40 favorite. Both men are capable of ending this fight via KO, although Donaire has better one-punch power.

The favorite has to be Donaire, though Rigondeaux will probably be one of the toughest fighters he's faced to date. Best fight at 122 aside from Donaire-Mares, and one Donaire needed before leaving the division.

I'm predicting Donaire by a TKO, though I'm pulling for Rigondeaux obviously. Rigondeaux' chin just seemed too shaky for me to pick him against Donaire, though he will undoubtedly have his moments catching Donaire. Tiny Narvaez was able to frustrate Donaire and catch him with counters, so I'm guessing a faster and better Rigondeaux will be able to frustrate him from time to time and counter him effectively.

My sentiments, exactly. Although I'm not convinced Rigo is "chinny," there are definitely questions regarding his punch resistance. That, coupled with Donaire's obvious power, makes me slightly favor Nonito. On the other hand, Guille is, in my opinion, the best fighter Donaire has ever faced. His record may not reflect that yet, but his talent and skills are evident. Beyond that, Rigo's power has to be respected. If Nonito gets too aggressive, he might find himself the victim of a KO himself.

I'm going with the skills of Rigo, he's fantastic. The power Donaire has makes it very much a 50/50 type fight, but I do favour those skills of Rigo.

Also, Donaire is not moving up and beating Gamboa...no chance.

Donaire would beat Gamboa at 122 and 126. At 130 it would be a toss-up. Donaire doesn't have any skills? He has an excellent natural left hook and a great straight right. Not to mention he's athletic and quick in the ring. Rigo has not faced the quickness that Nonito will bring to the table. If Nonito connects with that left hook, that just might end Rigo's career.

I never said Donaire doesn't have skills, I said I favour Rigo's skills...different things. They have very different styles and I think Rigo's will win out.

Donaire doesn't beat Gamboa at any weight. He's used to being the bigger guy, the faster guy and the harder puncher...Gamboa is faster than him, bigger than him and hits harder than him, he;s also flat out better. That fight will never happen though, so it's a pointless discussion.

It's a close fight. Both fighters bring great qualities to the table. I really can't see how one guy is gonna utterly outclass or overwhelm the other.

As for Gamboa, Yuri has his sights set on 135 already. But let's say, for the sake of argument, they can entice him to fight Donaire at 126. I see Gamboa being too much for Nonito. Everyone has their limits.

Michael Farenas knocked down Gamboa. Gamboa couldn't even KO Farenas as he was going for the knock out all night. If Farenas was a little better he could have knocked out Gamboa who has no defense. What Farenas did to Gamboa showed me that Ponce de León, Solis and Salido are all overrated mexicans.
