Fa real. Imagine a extra 5+ years onto his prime, and imagine how much total gross he'd be banking.

I think Floyd wanted a long term guaranteed $ contract and HBO didnt see the high ppv potential with the remaining opponents out there for Floyd. The only fighters Floyd can face that will pull in 1mil+ ppv buys would be Martinez, Canelo, and Pac. Of the 3 only 1 of them (canelo) is a slight possibility and with Canelo facing Trout in May, there's no guarantee he will win in order to setup a megafight in Sept. I've said it numerous times. If HBO let Floyd walk it musts have been for a good reason. Dont see them wanting to lose money by not broadcasting his fights.

They based that on absolutely nothing. It was pure speculation.

As a practical matter it has no real meaning to a fan how much money Floyd or any fighter makes, however his contract should be noted because it says something about the sport. That a boxer can command such princely sums is a sign both of the health of boxing and portends well for a sport that many have said is fading.

I don't know if what you're talking about factors in, we have no idea what the Showtime deal is, maybe HBO just got out bid plain and simple? HBO has deep pockets but maybe Showtime came to the table prepared to lose money short term in order to secure a stronger future foothold in the sport. Showtime may well end up losing money in the deal but until they do there's no downside to having boxing largest attraction on their payroll.

The genius of a promoter is selling what is as if it isn't as it seems. So far, Mayweather has managed his boxing career brilliantly doing just that, now that he's 36 I think his business acumen is really going to be tested over the next two years.

And to think that Pac is still fighthing for Bob Arum for $6 million guarantees per fight and a cut of the PPV revenue. Pac is probably kicking his own a.ss right now after hearing about the deal that Mayweather signed and realizing how ****** he was to stay with Arum.

Oh, really. Is Alvarez scheduled to fight a rematch with Baldomir on May 4 instead of Trout? I am sure Richard Schafer would love to make that fight instead of putting Alvarez in the ring with Trout.

6 years $250 million, not even prime roiding A-Rod with the Texas Rangers.

Manny needs to leave Top Rank immediately. Bob Arum is a greedy son of a b1tch.
