I was really surprised with the Gavinator's hand speed. Dare I say they he actually look quicker than Broner early on in the fight. Hopeful we will get a chance to see him again here in the US.

Entertainment wise i reckon Rees v Murray is the best scrap (whats going on with him anyway he hasnt fought since the Rios fight?)
He was due to fight Murray prior to fighting Broner. Murray has apparently had health issues, picked up on a brain scan, so I'm not sure what's happening with him now.

He does look really small, but think he's deceptively chunky all over. Seems to have a mini "circus-strongman" type physique - just big all over with no particular standout feature like big shoulders/big back.

It might be hard for him to do 130. Heard he came in at 150 for Broner fight.

You are right he is very stocky, he also has already stepped down from 140 to 135, going down again at 32 would be a struggle.

ah right. Murray has been out of the ring that long that even if he is ok to fight he'll need a warm up.

If he somehow would have been able to squeeze down to 130, he could have been the best 130 guy right now aside from Gamboa. Too bad he's actually a career JWW already squeezing down to 135. His handspeed and swarming style he used against Broner would have gotten him some good wins at 130.

HBO is going to use Reese as a step-up fight for their boxers to get exposure, since he actually took 2 rounds from Broner. Reese will always come to win and that's what HBO likes.

Glad to hear that Rees won some fans..... He came to fight and fair play. Even if he is used as a stepping stone for upcoming fights.

When Rees Vs Broner was announced, the main thing that came to mind was that if he can give a good account of himself and leave it all in the ring (which he always does), then he could secure himself some more fights over in America.

So, good for him if thats what is happening. Over the years he has always been involved in good fights.

As others have mentioned in the thread though, some of the more exciting fights could be back here in the UK. A fight against Murray (if he gets the all clear to fight again soon) or a fight against Mitchell are potentially very good fights.

Nice to see the respect and admiration that Rees is getting here. Rees was always going to leave it all in the ring. I'm proud of him, he deserves all that Hearn says is coming to him.

Oh, and TGD - Jesus, I didn't know that about Murray. I was only wandering recently what's happening with him. I Hope he's okay.
