Did Tyson have a good chin?

Yes, and no. He took some vicious shots against Razor Ruddock, and still stood up to them. Same with Buster, although he got KO'd.

I think once he fought Holyifeld, his training, and lack of focus really did him in.

It was always his defense that saved his ass, once he lost that, he was getting tagged frequently. Still solid chin, but not great.

he ahd a great chin but it all meant for nothing when he lost his focus and interest in boxing, which was clearly not long after he left jail.

The shots he was taking there were crazy, and the uppercut that started the barrage that knocked him down should have had any normal chinned HW out of there.

He had to take a sustained beating before he would be knocked out, like any other great chinned fighter.

Actually one of the best ever at HW imo. Buster Douglas is the only fighter to ever truly ring mikes bell and that was after a 10 round beating. Consider that Tyson walked through any shot Ruddock had to offer and basically ruined him in their two fights. Also he was a punching bag 10 years out of his prime once Lewis got to him and he soaked up Lennox best shots round after round and when he did go down he could have made it back up. He stayed down not because he was very hurt or dazed, but because he had enough and didn't want to get up. Post fight Lewis actually said that he was "shocked and amazed" at the shots Tyson was able to take.

Pretty damn good when you consider he is a heavyweight which is the most dangerous class for getting knocked out and it took some horrendous beatings to stop him until he was way past his sell by date.

Probably one of his best attributes really.

tyson had a monster chin.that shouldnt even be disputable.he ate bombs from rudduck,lewis,and douglas that would've 99% of most heavies to sleep
