Boxing is desperate for a new star to emerge from the post Mayweather/Pacquiao era.

When Floyd and Manny retire, a lot of people's pockets are going to take a hit for a while. Who will be the next group of fighters that can sell 1 million PPV's and enerate $10 million live gates?

Broner and Canelo are being pushed into those roles without proving themselves the way Mayweather and Pacquiao did.

If you are going by how good you think he might be then #6 is reasonable. If you go by the quality of the fighters he has defeated then he does not belong in the top 10 quite yet. There are more than ten fighters who have defeated more good fighters than Broner has. If you have to earn your ranking by actual wins and not potential then Broner has not earned his spot yet in my opinion. If he beats the winner of Burns-Vazquez then he should get in. No fighter he beat was rated in the top 10 pfp.

          Thanks man.

Chico walking past Team Castillo and under the Mexican flag, that awesome top with his name adorned on it. A brief moment where Chico and Jose make eye contact.....it's just a brilliant moment, especially when we know what happened after.
Epicness. Chico was one of the baddest man in boxing IMO.

They forget what Mike Tyson, Oscar De La Hoya, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather all had to go through to become PPV stars.

It's something that can't be forced. It has to be earned. None of those guys were protected at a young age and got in the ring with killers. Who they decided to fight once they became stars is another story but they all earned their status beforehand by performing in the ring.

It will be interesting to see how this all plays out in a few years and if any of these young guys will be PPV fighters.

floyd was the original broner. he was #8 after beating genaro and manfredy. alright that's debatable but then he shot up to #2 after beating carlos alberto rios, justin juuko, and carlos gerena. look out for broner to be #1 next week.
