If Canelo-Trout is announced already (knew he was gonna fight Trout...I think he will beat him too) why not Floyd-Guerrero?

That was over 15 months removed from the Margarito win. We all have seen how badly Mosley aged in that time.

manny still turned down his offer until he saw how he looked against Mora. Then suddenly it was ok to fight him at 147.

Man everyone and their brother wanted that fight and NO ONE thought Floyd would take it. Should we bump those threads???

That was the ultimate flip flop.

Didn’t know I was getting graded for punctuation.. what are we in school? I think you’re just dodging in order to not engage with a proper debate… other than.. he was this.. with weak supportive details.. I merely stated my opinion of your opinion.. and you went on to judge me for shooting your post down.. and now you’re back peddling.. another great post by you.. I’m going to give you more green point.. just so you can claim your superiority!!

Martinez has been calling out Mayweather for a couple years now. Let's not forget that Martinez is a natural 154 fighter (the division Floyd holds a title). Martinez has always said he's meet Floyd at 154 or lower. As far as Sergio not fighting Golovkin, Quillen, Pirog, etc....those guys have little name value. All risk/no reward. He just beat JCC after basically corning the kid into finally fighting him. Martinez is the biggest fight Floyd could make right now and like I said, he doesn't dare mention him.

Diaz was the man at 135 before the Campbell loss. I'll give you the Malignaggi robbery but besides that, the kid was a former P4P fighter, young, and that made him dangerous! All risk/little reward.

Martinez is NOT a natural 154 lbs. He has to drain himself quite a bit just to make Middleweight of 160. He walks around above 180 lbs or higher. When he has 30-day weigh-ins, he's typically well over 170 lbs.

Canelo and Trout are also not natural 154 lbs. They actually don't belong in that division. Gamboa is really a Welterweight. Tim Bradley is really a goddamn Middleweight. He walks around at 165 or so. But this nonsense is prevalent in boxing today. Few fighters are actually fighting in their NATURAL weight classes.

My arguement is about Mayweather hand picking convenient/easier fights. He should have fought all those guys I listed earlier but he didn't. Instead he fought a bloated lightweight in Marquez, Vic Ortiz, battle worn Cotto, and now Guerrero or Alexander. Come on son!? He should have fought Pac YEARS ago! Martinez is the fight to make and he doesn't dare mention his name. If that's not a history of cherry picking then I don't know what is.

As far as Marquez's resume. Dias was dangerous when Marquez fought him! A young former lightweight division champion with just 1 loss! How was he not a threat? Hell, he gave Marquez hell in their first fight. Casamayor was old when they fought but he still was the RING lineal champion when they fought and Marquez iced him! First time he had been stopped btw! As far as him beating Barrera, Chris John, and Salido...I won't dignify that ridiculous comment with a response. While Pac was fighting Arum's "safe bets" for millions, Marquez was going through high risk/low reward fights for crumbs in hopes of that Pac fight. Give Marquez his dues.
Anybody that questions Floyd's resume should be banned from ever watching boxing again.

The man has beat 18 world champions so far in his career.
He also has an easy win over your boy Marquez.

The Marquez version that Mayweather fought would have lost to Pacquiao.
But this 39yr old big strong new and improved roided up Marquez has just knocked out Pacquiao....a guy he had never dropped before that 4th fight.

That was the fight he needed to be able to provide for his family for the rest of his life. Compare that to fighting and possibly losing to some up and coming fighters for crumbs. There goes his retirement plan. After all is said and done, he obviously made the right career moves. Got a Pac 2x "$$$" and got his revenge. Now he's the man and is calling the shots. Family set for life. Can't hate on that!

You should be ashamed of yourself for not holding a ring legend such as Marquez to a higher standard.

You don't blame him for fighting bums in order to to not miss fighting Pacquiao? Wow
