Uh noFloyd is the greatest self promoter since Ali. He promotes the fight even before it's made. He keeps the intrigue of a potential fight going when everybody pretty much knows it's going to be the ghost.
But the genius is the fact he will get all the free promotion once his opponent is announced.
All the other promoters always say they need at least 6 months to promote a big time fight, but Floyd only needs three months. Why? Because he will get the media bounce once he announces his opponent.
Mike Tyson.
Odlh
SRL
RJJ
All better promoters.
Good try tho.Comment

Seriously? Did you actually write this comment? Are you crazy or just ******? Alexander has never been in the running for a fight against Mayweather. Mayweather said that just to blow smoke up the collective ass.es of the blog writers who pounce on every word said by or about him regardless of whether it is factual and people like you who write 200 messages on this message board criticizing him every time he blows his nose.
As for Jose Sulamain, what do you think he would do if Mayweather did decide to fight Alexander instead of Guerrerro -- strip Mayweather of the title and give up the sanctioning fee, which will be more than the combined fees of all 30 of the interim, diamond and title eliminator fights that he will collect fees on throughout the entire year of 2013?Last edited by big_james10; 02-13-2013, 11:04 PM.Comment

Guerrero isn't just the mandatory, he's the interim champ
won't Floyd get stripped if he doesn't face Guerrero next?
assuming the WBC is willing to follow it's own rules of course
never bought this crap about Floyd fighting Alexander the twat
but never believed he'd fight JMM either and he did, so who knows
should be easier for Floyd to make this deal than Alvarez thoughComment

This fight is literally on par with the Alexander fight in terms of quality. The general consensus is that Guerrero would actually fight with balls and make the fight a little more exciting. People also think it's okay to let Floyd take this cherrypick because they just assume he will fight again in September. Why they believe that...I have no idea. It's Floyd himself who said it takes 6 months to promote a PPV, and when is the last time he fought twice in one year? If Canelo beats Trout or whoever he's fighting do you really believe Floyd would fight him? Think about it.Comment

You are correct in that. He throws stuff out there and creates a media frenzy. Even his haters are making threads on him anticipating his next move. Floyd is shameless but gets the job done. Mike Tyson's unpredictable attitude and KOes sold fights, but he wasn't the one negotiating the fights.
ODLH once he got away from Arum was his own boss plus he was a cross over star especially with the females. But he didn't use antics to sell fights.
RJJ never sold the amout of PPV that FMjr has sold but I give him props for managing his career so well
SRL was a darling since the olympics and a living legend. He might have Floyd in that category.
Floyd is not the best since Ali but is definitly in the top threeComment
