That would be the sensible response, Dunn. However most boxing fans today (well the majority on here) don't use sense when posting. Just silly name calling & insulting boxers.

broner is a young and relatively inexperienced fighter. he has displayed a great deal of skill. should he find himself in an unexpected position, ie a tough fight, the measure of him as a fighter and ultimately a superstar is how he handles and overcomes adversity.

Two division world champ...you say hes relatively inexperienced, wow. If he was in a tough fight say with Matthysse and won..then yes it would "add a dimension" as you put it.

It will calm the broner hype down a bit for a little while. The guy is saying he is going to carry the sport, win titles up through 154, every fight is an easy fight, etc. It's one thing to say that stuff and back it up, time and time again against respected, established opponents. It's a completely different story if you struggle against a guy nearly half of your size.

For Broner's sake, he should hope he dispatches of Rees in like 2 rounds.

It is painfully obvious that he is HUGE at 135. He can make the weight so I guess complaints are moot but the underlying sentiment is that he should be fighting north of where he is (the dude makes 140 and 147 pound fighters look small). I'd imagine hardly anyone would say a word about him or where he fights if he didn't brag about how good he is all the time. If you are truly that good, move up and fight someone closer to your size then, even so you should beat them with relative ease if you are that good.

That's my feeling regarding it anyways.

I call him inexperienced because he has 25 pro fights and less than 150 pro rounds. he hasn't seen enough in the ring as a professional. if rees, who is less talented but more experienced, gives him a tough fight it doesn't mean broner's potential as a pro is diminished in any way.

When adversity knocks we'll see how he handles it, also pressure! For now at 23 yrs old he's right where he needs to be. He can move up when his body tells him too, I doubt he or his management are listening to "forum rubes" who have never even been in a gym let alone a fight!
If you can't SEE that he has talent and potental right now you don't know what your looking at! Theres no "hype" about this kid, he's good right now at 23 yrs old! A fighters best maturity years are 27 to 31 this kid has all kinds of room to grow. If he drops a decision down the line does that mean he's done? Ofcourse on this forum where the undefeated rules it would be a disaster but in the real world you could loose a fight and still fight well if your oponent happens to best you that night its a reality strong fighters can deal with its the fans that panic! Should be fun to watch this kid grow in the sport! Ray.
