This thread is a fantasy fight that asked us who we think would win and how.

And the only thing people in this thread can say is "chin, reach, workrate, chin reach, workrate, chin, reach workrate". Yes Williams had all of those yet he still managed to get outboxed by a C+ fighter at 147. It has nothing to do with being a southpaw. It had to do with showing movement, staying out of range, inside fighting and sharp counter punching. All skills that a boxer at the world class level should have.
Horrible style match up for Floyd. Oops, ok. Whenever we break down a fight, we shall never again bring up chin, work rate, reach. OK sir.

P-Will is also a good counter pucher. He can also stay out of range. He is a pretty damn good inside fighter as well. As well as putting heavy, tall pressure on his opponents.

Floyd don't want none. Evidenced by his retirement.

    • Floyd likes to rest on the ropes (WW, the weight class they'd be fighting at). Has his chin in the air when he engages. Uses his elbow to nullify oppoent's inside game. Vulnerable to the body. Susceptible to a good jab. Lacks true power. Low work rate. One shot, and reset.

The only thing is, he's cherry picked his way to making sure no one can take advantage of those things.

P-Will is a bad match up for "show money" Floyd.

      • I think. P.will has a chance to stop him he is probably the tallest fighter he's ever faught and punches would be raining downwards hitting the top of Floyd's head instead of being deflected upward and away from him

            • I'm glad this thread was able to spark a decent boxing discussion.

It seems that you're either the Floyd UD or the Williams UD crowd, with another half saying Williams KO. Kinda how I figured the votes would go. Some people are making a strong case as to why Floyd would make easy work of PWILL though.

Williams KOed Quintana and was able to connect in both fights against Martinez but Martinez had the power to KO Williams. Floyd doesn't have the power of Martinez at 160lbs.

With Williams reach he was able to connect on Martinez unlike some of Martinez's other opponents who had a much harder time finding Martinez. So one has to give Williams credit.

I have said in other threads that Williams had defensive flaws but it would take a good puncher to take full advantage of his mistakes. Floyd depends on his defense and that his opponents would quit trying to unsuccessfully penetrate his defense. Williams threw from everywhere at a very high work-rate. Too much for a Floyd at WW and even more so at 154.

                • WHoever picked Williams is a troll or idiot. No way Williams sloppy punching non existence defense having ass would have stood a chance. Bum ass Quintana and Lara schooled him as well

The Floyd hate here is mind bottling. Can we have a discussion without biased for once.. Floyd would have a field day countering williams.
Who cares about height, PAUL never used his height. He has no plan B, that won't work vs Floyd. Vegas would have Floyd at -700 vs Williams

And if people had to pick the winners and their lives depended on it, 99% you fuccboys would pick Floyd so stop bull****ttting

Its a well known fact that Corrales was severely weight drained.
