Comments Thread For: Sulaiman on Mayweather-Guerrero, Mayweather-Canelo

World Boxing Council (WBC) President Jose Sulaiman is standing behind the match between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero. Mayweather returns on May 4th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather recently named IBF champion Devon Alexander as the frontrunner to face him.

Sulaiman wants Mayweather, the WBC's champion at 147, to fight Guerrero, the WBC's interim-champion at 147, in order to establish the true WBC beltholder at welterweight.

If Mayweather wins, the WBC will support a match with WBC 154-pound champion Saul "Cenlo" Alvarez.

If its like that Mayweather should have been stripped off his title when he went to jail, if anything as an example to youngsters that crime = time = get back in line... for the title that is... still think the Ghost has not earned this cash money title shot!

Canelo go down to 150... Yea right, the irony. Lol

The same way there shouldn't be an interim belt is the same way Mayweather shouldve been stripped.

The only problem with Mr. Sulaiman's theory is Robert Guerrero is going to beat Mayweather and then there will be a rematch. Canelo needs to beat someone in the top 10 first before he gets a mega-fight. At least Ghost beat 2 #1 contenders. Guerrero is the best welterweight in boxing. The new blood has arrived.

Wait, so ginger can go down in weight for Floyd, but not for the jr lightweights he fights??

And Floyd would get a catchweight for ginger even though he's never needed 1 before??

And sulaiman is speaking on who Floyd's opponent should be, but not a word on ginger's??

Well that's just a strange a$$backwards interview. Totally fabricated piece of trash.

Floyd wouldn't use a CW to fight Canelo.
