Donaire looks soft, but that doesn't mean he is soft. I don't recall him being tested to the body before, and few people go to the body as well as Rigo, but I haven't seen any evidence that Nonito's "softness" has hurt him. I do agree, however, that Donaire often leaves himself wide open for counters. The flip-side to that is that you create holes yourself when trying to capitalize on openings. It's not so simple. Nonito has the kind of power that must be respected at all times.

I'm not sold on Rigo's "chinniness," but what I've seen doesn't inspire confidence, either. I wouldn't want to see him get tagged flush by a Donaire left hook. It can take anyone out, let alone someone with a questionable beard.

Can't wait for this match. Definitely one of the fights I am anticipating the most this year.

He won't be ready, someone from his team is feeding delusions of grandeur. But the truth is Donaire lands less than 5% of his jabs against southpaws which is pitiful. Clearly he has difficulties, and him saying Rigo is going to run is hilarious. I can see Donaire swinging like Sammy Sosa all fight, missing everything and Rigo just picking him apart.

Dan's a lot more critical of Donaire, and a lot more confident of Rigo, than I am. Big, shiny muscles don't mean a fighter hits hard, and a smooth appearance doesn't necessarily denote lack of conditioning. There's no doubt in my mind Nonito is well-conditioned, despite his looks.

I agree, Donaire's going to miss a lot. But something will land, probably more than once. The question is, what then?

Haters have called for this match, but will give no credit to Donaire when he wins.

That's the way it works. When you're biggest threats are between multiple men (Rigo, Mares, Gamboa), beating one will never satisfy.

Everyone of the last four opponent of Rigo before Rigo fight they have a 100 punches per round %~ and against Rigo they don't threw punches..that's because of rigo's accuracy and puncher power..I believe that Donaire will fill Rigo's power and don't go wild..that will be worst for him since nobody will be more technical than Rigo..Donaire is great but Rigo is to much...
