Hatton vs Mayweather hands down.
What was the most intense crowd atmosphere for a fight?

There are a ton, but here are some that come to mind:
Cotto/Zab
Trinidad/Mayorga
Nationalistic:
Floyd/Hatton
Cotto/Margarito I
Pac/Morales I
Maybe not the loudest, but very volatile crowds before and after:
Bowe/Golota
Rahman/Maskaev
Oscar/Vargas
Tapia/Romero
Margartio/Mosley
Honorable mention: the weigh-in for Mayweather/Hatton, best EVER!
the beautiful thing about boxing is that in the best of fights, the crowd and fight builds slowly to a crescendo and the back and forth puts it over the edge ... the 12th round of Chavez Jr/Martinez is up there as wellLast edited by LA_2_Vegas; 02-11-2013, 05:40 PM.Comment

Hatton basically brings all the Man City fans with him. Like being at a football match.

The most intense atmosphere I've been in was the Frazier vs Ali 1. That was a heavy duty feeling waiting for them to hit the ring! It was a very very serious atmosphere very different from other Ali fights! The fight was equally serious.
Theres a copy of the fight somewhere that has NO commentary but it does have an open mic about 15 feet above the ring (I think) or an opened mic somewheres. All you hear is Ali an Joe landing, grunting, breathing you can even hear the sound of the canvas as Ali slides his feet at times!!
It is the "best" way to watch that bout!! I assure that you'll come away thinking a little bt different about boxing especially if you've never been to a live event. Ray.Comment
