    Junior lightweight contender Vicente Escobedo will fight Edner Cherry in a scheduled 10 round bout at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ on Saturday night.

    Golden Boy Promotions matchmaker Eric Gomez advised Boxingscene.com on Sunday that the bout will not be televised on HBO.

    The “World Championship Boxing” telecast was originally to show Adrien Broner’s lightweight world title belt defense against Welshman Gavin Rees along with the rematch between heavyweights Jonathan Banks and Seth Mitchell. [Click Here To Read More]

              Cherry's a VG boxwr but his management,IMO, ruined his career by insisting he fight @ 135-144 & kept him in tampa area way 2 far... Remeber he lost badly 2 Bradley...not a big puncher but technically very sound...2 bad a good fight 4 him comes late...he hasn't much left
