Who will make the best Tranier for Cotto?

Assuming Miguel Cotto is to replace Diaz as his trainer who you think could fulfill that role and bring/expand/improve Miguel to take on 2-3 more successful fights?

Select from the poll or post who and why?

He needs to push himself more in the gym but after the many wars he's been through i don't think his body can take a grueling training camp anymore. As the saying goes " You fight how you train ". To me he always looked lethargic in training camps. He lacks the intensity, that's why you always see him fading bad late in tough fights.

never has... just because you part with a trainer doesnt mean you blame them for your loss... we dont know why they MAY split....

cotto left evangelista because he wouldnt agree to train outside PR

left santiago because he wasnt a trainer he was a nutrtionist...

left Steward over money and the fact that he had wanted to train with Diaz for quite a while prior to their eventual pairing.

i thought steward was perfect for him BTW.

Just goes to show that the trainer hasn't much to do with it, he was all happy with him when he beat margarito. But when he faced Floyd and trout he still lost.

Steward was really the best trainer for Cotto

Out of the choices, I'd keep Pedro but incorporate a more experienced #2 to help him. At the end of the day, Pedro just seems a little bit inexperienced. I also think they slept on Trout big time. They had a good gameplan in Margarito and brought another gameplan for Mayweather and he had some success. For the Trout fight, they used essentially the same plan they used on Mayweather. In the mid-rounds, Cotto had success just boxing and making Trout come forward. All of the best hits Cotto landed was when he allowed Trout to come forward. When Cotto came forward, he got the worse end of it.

A better trainer/tactician should have seen that in those tapes and train around it.

So I like him to keep Diaz, just bring in another #2 to give another viewpoint
