Canelo is supposedly a Showtime fighter now which could add problems if he is on the UC and Floyd wants to go with HBO. Another big sticking point could be Golden Boy's recent close relationship with Showtime, so GBP could be trying to sell Floyd on switching networks.

Showtime also has access to CBS to help promote the fight.

Im just saying, why does Mayweather care if it's on HBO or Showtime? Unless he has a contract with HBO which I doubt. PPV is PPV no? Whether its HBO PPV or Showtime PPV. It's a 1 time fee thing. I get what your saying, but I think you are missing what I am trying to say.

When a guy fights on PPV he doesn't get all of the it generates. In fact he doesn't get most of it.

Most of the money goes to the provider HBO, Showtime, Ect. and the cable companies like Time Warner ect.

The fighters get a certain cut of the money, and that is negotiated before hand. So Floyd could be trying to get more money from the provider.
