I'm glad Ishida is getting good fights and hopefully good money. That Kirkland upset was worth it's weight in gold. Ishida is a true warrior.

Ishida's wiki page is pretty interesting. He's a college grad in social work, and apparently is unable to fight in Japan now, having given up his license to fight Pirog.

Interesting fight. I'd be very impressed if GGG can win by ko by the 6th round, not a stoppage by the corner.

          Ishida is real durable dude.

And he punches at a decent rate.

Golovkin gets some good rounds before he ends it in 7.

            Definitely.

My thoughts exactly! I know he's not going down easy and he's gonna take a lot of punishment in the process. I see this fight going the way Beltran vs Ji-Hoon Kim went.

But possibly and most likely worse.....

Good fight. Solid stay-busy match for GGG. Ishida has a chin on him. Could go to decision.

I'm glad Ishida has a title fight but what has he done to deserve it?

lost to Pirog and Williams in his last two fights.

Golovkin should be fighting better opponents and they are available. Brian Vera and Marcos Antonio Rubio have both called him out looking for a fight. the sad thing is both are better than anybody GGG has faced as a pro.

for a guy being hyped as the most avoided man in boxing fighting Ishida isn't going to cut it. honestly where is the risk in fighting Ishida?

if he does KO Ishida within 4 rounds he'll look bad because they hype around him has become larger than the person. Rosado had a good showing and if it wasn't for the cut that fight would have become interesting in the later rounds. HBO tried to cover by saying he was bedridden two days before fight (although that was the day of the final presser and he looked fine, watch the video)

all I'm wondering is what will the excuse be if Ishida goes the distance? will they say GGG got the clap from a hooker in the casino?

This will be a good match, lets see how GGG behaves with the likes of Ishida, but if history repeats itself again........

Ishida doesn't have much to lose, except maybe some brain cells. Ishida's chin will either betray him, or he'll take a sustained beating.
