I live here and you couldn't be more wrong. People here still supports Pac. Sure there are some concerns that he should consider retiring after suffering the KO. I am a Donaire fan and he still has a long way to go to reach Pac status here. Honestly I don't see him surpassing Pac. And I don't think what you're trying to imply will happen. I just don't see it.
pacquio is no longer special in the Phillipines

Donaire will NEVER enjoy the support Manny has. Even if he becomes an 8 division champion (which he wont), he's never going to be associated by the local man as one of their own, cut from the same cloth
Manny is a special dude, no point in hating or trying to pretend otherwise, he will always be super popular for what he's given their countryComment

donaire is fillipino, but when I visit people barely know him. I ask about him and Mercito Gesta and nobody knows those guys. I also see Manny on tv daily. He has two shows that I know of where he gives money away and helps out the poor. Donaire doesnt even scratch the surface of manny popularity and alot of it has to do with him being more Americanized than Manny who grew up in the PI. wALKING DOWN ANY STREET YOU WILL SEE PEOPLE SAILING mANNY SHIRTS AND WATCHING HIS OLD FIGHT IN pUBS.Comment
