Of course people will just say Povetkin was bad, not Wlad was just THAT good.
Povetkin isn't good. He's just another name to clear out and continue to establish Wlad's dominance during his reign. He's nowhere near the best fighter Wlad would have ever beaten.

How does a win over Povetkin propel you up the ATG rankings? Povetkin may be the 3rd best heavyweight but he's far from HOF quality.

Beating Povetkin is good because it's one more name to scratch off the list on the "clearing out the division" mission.
Not sure how you rank Povetkin over Haye, even questionable to rank him over Fury weirdly enough

I never understood this thing about Povetkin, why is it such a craved fight? It's not as if Povetkin has showed anything great to pose a challenge? I don't think he even won the Huck fight, and Huck doesn't possess the greatest technical ability, despite being one of my fav fighters

Because Povetkin has beaten Byrd, Chambers, Chagaev, Huck and a shot Rahman.

Haye has beaten Barrett, Valuev, Chisora, Fraudley and a shot John Ruiz. As well as lost to Wlad.

Fury only really beat Cunningham and Chisora. Rest of his wins are against shot fighters or no names.

I'm not big on Povetkin, don't think hes that great. I think it's very possible he loses to Haye, Fury or Pulev. But he should be ranked above all those currently.

I also had Huck winning. But a lot of people had Povetkin.

Wlad still looked vunerable at times. He's not unbeatable....it;s not like...ahem..."there isn't a blueprint to beat him".
But credit to him today, he beat the opponent in front of him.
And he's likely to beat Povetkin too, unless he get's old overnight, I just can't see the guy struggling.
              There's no one out there.

Povetkin is an Olympic gold medalist. You don't win a gold medal in the Olympics if you're not good, sorry. I'm not saying he's an ATG. But to say he's not a skilled fighter just doesn't make sense. IMO.

He looked medicore. Took his time and worked Walker over to a decision. Didnt look all that great physically, but he's been out of the sing so long I can't remember if that's how he always looked. Compared to Walker, he looked like a flabby cruiserweight.

Still got a great boxing IQ and pulls off some cool ****, but he looked pretty lethargic tonight. Check the video section, ***** upped it.
