Why is Rigondeaux jeopardizing the fight on the behalf of these Caribe guys, if as the article suggests he has settled his differences with them?

If Caribe have a legitimate grievance then they can pursue it through the court themselves. On the face of it, Rigo putting the biggest payday of his career at risk for their sake doesn't make any sense at all.

I also feel that he doesn't want to fight Donaire. All of his screaming about getting the fight and he finally gets the nod and all of a sudden he puts up a road block. Or better yet, letting a 3rd party influence him to drop the ball on this opportunity.
That's what's so strange about. They must be leaning on him in some way. Unless of course he feels some sort of loyalty towards a company that would buy and sell him like a piece of meat.

Meh. I have a hard time believing that, as you said, Rigondeaux wouldn't last 6, but that Darchinyan would be a good competitive fight. The Darchinyan fight might have more excitement to it then a Rigo fight (due to the backstory and Rigo being more technical), but the only surprise I could possibly see happening is that Donaire finishes Vic off quicker then the last time. Darchinyan has gone pretty well downhill since their first fight (not to mention Donaire has improved greatly as well) - and Vic got flattened in that one. I just see Vic chasing Nonito around more, missing wildly in desperation (anyone who has ever watched Vic fight knows he gets frustrated by movement), and eventually getting countered and embarrassed quicker than in the first fight. Maybe that's just me, though.

So rigondeaux flaps his big Cuban gums incessantly for a Donaire fight, gets it, and now wants to pull this BS? Donaire is not at fault here whatsoever.

          Rigondeaux's a b1tch.

If Rigo fought Marriquin, even though Cribe tried to stop it; why can't he fight Donaire even though Cribe is trying to stop this fight? Rigo is trying to wiggle his way out of cashing a a check his big mouth wrote. OBVIOUSLY!:ANYWORD:

Rigondeux is *****ING OUT of the Donaire fight! When I heard that the Mares fight wasn't pushing through; I knew the Rigo fight would be made. But now this BULLSH_T from the Rigo camp; even after Rigo fought Marroquin while these Cribe people were whining. Now the Cribe whining is going to be the deal breaker for the Donaire fight?! WTF!!!

Rigo is a damn B1TCH! He needs to sign the fight and let his LEGAL team deal with the legalities - and ONLY if someone blocks the fight legally should the fight not go on. THAT is NOT Rigo's job, he is not the lawyer or arbitrator!!!

Rigondeaux apparently signed a 3 year promotional contract with Caribe in 2009 with an automatic 3 year renewal(1). Then in 2010, Caribe and Top Rank reached a Co-promotional agreement in which Top Rank is the main promoter. However in July 2012, Top Rank decides to cut out Caribe and Manager Hyde by negotiating a deal with Rigo directly. Hyde won his injunction but Caribe failed theirs, setting up Rigo vs Marroquin.

Bob Arum should just settle with Caribe if they have rights to Rigo. Arum or Rigo owes them a cut of the fighters purses and promotion. The old man likes to play too many games with contracts. It is his fault if this fight doesn't go through.
