Comments Thread For: Team Geale Dispute Soliman's Claims: Not So Fast Sam

Daniel Geale's camp has refuted claims from fellow Australian boxer Sam Soliman that the pair have signed a deal to meet later this year.

Soliman is the mandatory challenger for Geale's IBF middleweight belt after his unanimous points win over Felix Sturm in Germany on the weekend.

The victory came just days after Geale defended the title against Anthony Mundine in Sydney, and this morning Soliman said his fellow Australian had given the fight the green light, with just the date to be finalised.

How can Team Geale be "gearing up for a lucrative optional defense" when they just came off of a lucrative optional defense? You had your optional. now fight your damn mandatory.

Hopefully the optional defense he speaks of is a unification...

              Bound to happen

When was the last time two modern era Aussies held a slice of the MW title or any other belt?

Geale gets another belt and a very tidy pay cheque, Soliman gets a nice way to fill-up his pension fund and a proper reward after years of hard fighting.

This is the nightmare scenario for Golvokin.....the Aussies playing 'keep ball' with their share of the titles and Martinez doing another Tango with Chavez.

That leaves Golvokin with the Brits (profitable business) or a risky one against Peter Q.
