What's the big deal with Rigondeaux? Please stop!

Donaire should just steamroll thru Rigo and get it over and done with so that the Rigo fanboys can go back into their caves and shut up about this fight. Aside from winning gold at the olympics in 2000 and in 2004 (9 and 13yrs ago), he has fought nobody nor beat anyone of note. Why are people so high on this guy? He's only had 11 pro fights. People bash Canelo for not proving himself enough to step in the ring with Floyd yet Rigo has made less of a case for himself. He has done absolutely zilch.

Rigo's biggest accomplishment is something he did 9yrs ago as an amateur against other amateurs. I'm not against this fight although it wouldnt draw much interests amongsts casuals since nobody know's who Rigo is let alone know's how to pronounce his name. I just want Donaire to blast thru him so that we can see the real fight between him and Mares.

Obviously you lack basic understanding of the special circumstances faced by Cuban fighters.

I'm fully aware of the circumstances surrounding Cuban fighters. I still say that Rigo has done absolutely nothing to demand a shot at the #1 fighter in the division.

Hard to believe that a guy with just 11 fights is the only credible opponent for Doniare in his division.

Actually Rigondeaux is ranked #1. Donaire is the champ. So quite obviously he deserves a shot. Besides, other than Mares who the hell can Donaire fight at 122? Makes the most sense.

As for Rigondeaux, hes a title holder. All you have to do is watch him fight to realize he's a special fighter.

I have seen him fight. As a matter of fact he almost put me to sleep in his last fight!

Is it true that Rigo asked for a knockout bonus clause to be inserted into his Donaire contract?
