Comments Thread For: Early ESPN FNF Results: Smith Beats Jose Luis Castillo

UIC Pavilion, Chicago, Illinois - Antwone Smith (22-4-1, 12KOs) outworked former champion Jose Luis Castillo (64-11-1, 55KOs) to win a ten round unanimous decision in a fight held at a catch-weight of 156-pounds. The scores were 100-90, 98-92 and 99-91. Castillo's two fight win streak is snapped. Smith was too big, too busy and too active. Castillo also lost a point in the fourth round for repeated low blows.

not an overly exciting fight, very average fight as far as action is concerned, Castillo should definitely retire, he's just sooo slow now, lost almost every round and looked like a shot fighter towards the end

Damn that fight was hard to watch with Smith's continued grunting.

doesn't surprise me at all, the dude's 39 years old...harder to maintain that weight at that age, still kinda weird to see him at that weight considering how he was fighting at 135 in his prime

Molina has a good chance against K9 or Ishe Smith

Draw with Lara (should have won) shut out of Cintron and Kirkland (prior to the weirdness at the end).

Good chance? Pfft. Molina is on par with the very best in the division. He'dhave his way with them.

120-115. Good thing it wasn't a 15 round fight. He'd have lost by 30 or so rounds...
