No, once again that's not what it means. Please learn how to read a contract clause. If its no later than June 30 then the date is vague and still open to negotiation. It does not mean donaire has no say, in fact, even if that were the case, top rank could have easily just sent a counter offer with the appropriate date.

No that's not it meant, it means the fight has to take place by that date. And there is nothing wrong in wanting the fight done by June.

Fair play to GBP, but lets not forget, they actually have to show Mares they are trying to do everything to make the fight because Arum has already publicly said he will be interested in signing Mares and is interested in the fight, but he needs to be a TR fighter if the fight is going to happen.

Schaffer like all of us knew that Arum wasn't going to sign off on this fight, that he would settle for an in-house promo, this is to make Mares feel GBP are doing all they can in his careers interests and that they are the good guy in this and TR are the place he should stay away from

Putting the contract out publicly smacks of a PR move to me. No doubt they would have loved to make the fight, 3M is big beer but it will be interesting to hear Arums spin and crap about it

          Donaire took the harder fight....period.

FWIW, there is no way in hell Arum would ever let a company promote, and own the rights to one of his fighter's bouts. That makes no sense what so ever from a business stand point and with the GBP robberies, that offer sure sounds like a DLH vs Sturm/Casamayor vs Santa Cruz/ _____ one of the dozen of GBP robberies you can think of.
If its such a preposterous business idea why did Bob Arum offer the same concept to GBP/Mares? There is nothing wrong offering a fair value for a straight promotion. TR taking approx 1.5 mil for one fight is a ton of money!

This doesn't seem like the bs Mickey Mouse contract Donaire made it out to be only thing is doesn't specify a date just no later than june date.

Donaire HIMSELF said he wanted to fight MARES NEXT!!! he has been saying that for a long long while now, and anyone who is taking the time out to read THIS article has undoubtedly read Nonito make it clear that Mares is the fight he wants next. So for anyone to say Nonito is taking this fight because its the harder fight is straight bull*****. He is not turning down Mares to fight Rigo because its the harder fight, he is likely turning it down because he is being lied to, or not allowed to. He is turning it down because he is being controlled. And it would be a DAMN shame if he fights Rigo for even 1 PENNY LESS than 2 million dollars. Because if GBP offered 3mil for his services, that leaves 1 for Top Rank, and 2 for Nonito. Remember the proposed Guerrero v Bradley fight when it was rumored that GBP was trying to keep 800k out of Guerrero's 1.8 million purse? Bob Arum was quoted on VIDEO calling GBP greedy pigs for that, with an article right here on this site. Now GBP is putting the cash up and

              Oh, what about the sponsors?
              What about the banners?
              Rigo is the tougher fight.

              Get. The. F***. Outta here.

No later than June 30th means it could happen anytime between now and June 30. I'm not arguing that the contract states that it will happen June. It could happen before. What I'm arguing is that if Golden Boy wants it in June, Donaire will have to ablidge and there's nothing he could do about it. And no, if they sign the contact as it is, there's no room for the negotiation. The contract says

"which shall be held on a date no later than June 30 at a location int he United States designated by Promoter"
Got that? " Designed by Promoter. It's not "designed by Promoter and Top Rank" If you read the top of the contract, Promtoter means solely Golden Boy.

They could still negotiate the date before the contact is signed and change that part of the contract, but as it is, signing it with that vague date is unacceptable for Donaire, which is my whole point.

that is a certified contract, just makes donaire ridiculous with all the tweets he was sending out last night, what a pussy

and for those claiming this is a pr-move, what else where they suppose to do with donaire ridiculing both oscar and golden boy on twitter claiming they sent a "letter"....

now donaire looks liks a dumbass the same way he did when he resign with top rank after Arum said his wife dresses like a whore... wonder if he'll tell his son that part

Yea the only reason I don't think much into donaires involvement into this is I actually think he wants this fight over rigo but I think he's just another promotional pawn without the power to make any real decisions for himself.

So whomever supplied Boxingscene with the Contract Details, broke the contract themselves. (read section 18)
