Rios took his soul. Man I actually might have to go back and watch that fight again that was some serious ownage by rios. It was even sweeter because of all the hyping of the peterson bros and their 20 minute sob story special that hbo ran on them.

Anthony had much more hype than Lamont coming up. That Rios loss was pretty bad, but I didn't expect the guy to fall off this hard. Similarly, where is Anthony Dirrell?

haha. i was looking at this thread not too long ago. i went to boxrec to see if peterson/matthysse was confirmed, and that's when i looked up anthony peterson. he decisioned daniel attah about a year after the rios loss and has been inactive since then. just found this youtube interview while looking for the rios fight. it looks like he is coming back, and at 135.

You're right, he was the puncher of the two. Dirrell had that motorcycle accident last year, it'll take some time to get back from that.

Man do I hate the way HBO does that ****, and I always root against the guy they're hyping up to win. FNF always gives you both guys' story and lets you decide who you're rooting for, HBO ****ing shoves the guy they're backing down your throat and doesn't even interview the b-side guy. ****ing shameful.

It may sound bad but it always annoys me hearing Victor Ortiz or Robert Guerreros story over and over again

I wouldn't go that far. That fight was pretty close at the time Peterson was disqualified, although Rios was starting to roll at that point.

Everyone is hyping that Rios win but it was kinda a joke. Rios was huge. The fight was at LW and Rios was bigger than what Floyd is in his Jr MW fights, literally. He won is strictly on size & strength. I think if they had to do it over again, Peterson wouldve boxed a ton more instead of trying to **** with a huge Rios

Looks like Anthony is back on the Lamont Peterson-dierry jean undercard in January.

Looks like he's treading water fighting regular Gary Russel jr opponent, TBA.
